Jana Jonhardsdóttir is a contemporary artist who works primarily with a monochromatic colour palette as well as her current environment, which is surrounded by the North Atlantic Ocean and is a transient source of inspiration in her abstract work.

With a wide range of mediums such as wood, prints, paints, carving and a combination of others, Jana makes expressionistic art consisting of repetitive patterns and minimalistic referencing. Much of the work resembles the mechanics of clocks - compulsive energy, repetitive and a reliable pattern, similar to the character of the ocean, oscillates between a compulsive preciseness of lines and textures and the wildness of expressionistic mark making. allowing a movement to become an expression and a texture to become a communication.

Jana received her BA in Contemporary Arts from the University of Bath Spa Art and Design, in Bath England 2018 and her MA in Fine Arts, from the same University in 2019.

Jonhardsdóttir has been featured in several Scandinavian and European exhibitions as well as being held by collectors and galleries in the Faroe Islands, Milano, Copenhagen, New York, Bath and elsewhere. Her next mission is to reach a wider international audience.
