Maibritt Marjunardóttir (b.1988) is a Faroese textile artist and designer. She holds a bachelor degree in textile design from Designskolen Kolding, and a masters degree in fashion design from the Royal Academy (Copenhagen, DK).

Both in her art and her design Marjunardóttir explores affective-material expansion; how can value be generated by time and devotion, how are emotions to be incorporated into materials which are then transformed into art, either for viewing or wearing. Rooted in Faroese knitting culture and textile traditions, she works with themes such as material and emotional sustainability, nostalgia and a sense of belonging, and her aesthetic language is dark and often somber.

Marjunardóttir’s works have been exhibited at the Faroese National Museum of Art, at Not Quite in Fengersfors, Sweden. Her MA-project “Fucking Jävla Kuk-Kinship” was awarded  the Danish Crafters and Designers Award in 2022 in addition to being shown at the “Nordic Fashion Now” exhibit the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg.

In 2025 Marjunardóttir received a New Talent Work Grant from the Danish Arts Foundation.
